I didn't asked for a boxed version, just to add to the download link a printable cover for a cd/dvd and a label for cd. Many of v1200 owners own an external scsi cdrom or a pcmcia one. Then there are towerized systems too. If you take a look on Amiga shops, you can see that the majority of commercial games comes in CD rom format (reshoot R, worthy, trap runner ecc..). The collectible factor is still relevant on retro platforms. A printing cover and label will satisfy some collector's desires.

It's all new information to me :)

I will keep it in mind. Those designs have to happen first, though.

Well, personally I prefer digital copies, since having x empty boxes of games sitting on a shelf seems less than ideal/desirable. I realise people have different ideas of this. Collectables and all that jazz.

Most(?) users got a method of transfering files from PC to Amiga, if you dont have the ability to download from Amiga.

So this will be 1st Vamp optimized game and first new Amiga 3D title since Wipeout and Barbados Racing?

May peace reign, Vladimir!

That's the plan.

Was there really no 3D game since WipeOut on Amiga?
I too would love to get to the level of WipeOut but there's a reason why it's game No 3 or later.

Theoretically, after adding texturing to the engine, and spending about 6 weeks on additional generalizing, I should be able to make one level reasonably close to a WipeOut standards...

That would be great since Wipeout was PPC Amiga only, so most of 68k users had just to drool ... :)

I remember Barbados as last Voxel game and Wipeout as "real 3D"

I even do like isometric 3D like Guardian A500 and Trexx Warrior, could do some enriched reedits after :)

I'm not sure it's entirely fair to people who already signed up, to post in-progress news.

So, most likely, the next update will be a Phase Two video.

Besides, I just started recovery from the 64-hour Europe trip (last week), spent last two days just sleeping and today started messing with SD card on V4...

What I can tell you, that if I extrapolate all current non-Vampire (060 + 040) sales, add some fudge factor and some extra optimism, it's still going to result in Grand Total of 0.

So, it currently looks like this will be a Vampire-only game, after all, despite all the commotion on EAB from 060/040 users.

But we'll see after Phase 2.

You made the right decision.
Big box accelerated AMIGAS with 040 or 060  are a small niche in Amiga community. The majority of people on Eab are emulator users or stock Amiga (unaccelerated) ones. .
And nobody who uses only emulators will spend a dime on a game. They want all for free as their emulated Amiga.

Yeah, quite a lot of them mentioned they only use emulator, so I also find it hard to believe they would actually buy the game.

On the other hand, if somebody splurged for V4, that's a whole other ballgame...

So, it's not really me, making the decision. It's the community itself.

Then again, perhaps in Phase 2 or 3 it will accelerate, who knows. But, I'm glad I made this an option, as this way, it's out there, for the duration of the pre-order campaign (~3 months) and everybody has time to make decision for themselves.

Of course, I should go and start posting on all other major Amiga forums, but am afraid it will also only result in "me interested" posts, so might prove a complete waste of time...

I have a Vampirized A1200. I have bought some Amiga software since getting it, but i can't afford to buy everything. I'm taking a wait and see approach to see what new software actually comes out and will then buy the items i like the most.

Really?

I bought several games recently

But the community is burned by prepaying software that never get finished so either I donate directly or buy finished software

And of course it depends on the money, if I spend 10-20 EUR or 50 EUR for a new game or application

I fully agree.

In the AMIGA history there were many con-mans which tried to get rich on the fans and community by  making a lot noise of a new product, posting fake announcement, and roadmaps and then selling "pre-orders", or selling "vouchers" - but then not delivering anything but running with the money.

For all people knowing the Amiga history, such "PreOrders" and  the concept of taking money in advance - brings back memories of scammers and fraudsters.

You might not be aware of this.
But I think many people would never again pay for a preorder of anything in Amiga land.

While I was first very positive to your game proposal - your "preorder" move rang for me many "Amiga history" alarm bells.

Now look at it a lot more skeptical.
I know this is unfair - but its just to many con-mans before did this.

I really hope this project will come to fruition (I am the first supporter, so I could be the burned one it this is a scam). I think VladR doesn't understand completely our world (he seems to adopt his console-oriented approach to a radically different platform), and this forum was surely not the best place to sell a commercial project (albeit vampire related) . All said, I think that opening our world to the outside will be the key to Amiga revival.  Obviously only time will tell if this Heimdall will be worth or not..or just vapourware.. I just decided to believe.

I'm absolutely not aware of any Amiga scams, as I simply didn't follow this market, which I must have said approximately hundred times by now...

And clearly, will have to keep repeating couple hundred times more.

Does anybody seriously think selling retro games can come remotely close to the salary of senior SW engineer in New York?

That thought doesn't even qualify as retarded. At best, I'm looking at less than 5% of my hourly rate, and even that is questionable and risky to achieve.

Is it not stupidly obvious, I do this because I love the challenge of extracting performance from double digits megahertz CPU?

Now, about the"risk".

PayPal allows refund on a single click. No questions asked.

Now, I haven't tried it yet but I seriously doubt given how many times I heard other people do that, that there is any issue with it from customer side.

@Vladimir Repcak

Dont take it personal :)

People in this community have a flair for the melodramatic, mixed with extreme inpatience. It seems like many expect instant delivery upon pressing "pre-pay".

Simply ignore the noise ^^
