Hiya guys, is there a decent Sega megadrive emulator yet? I had one before but i dont think it was 080 optimized and as a result crawled!!!

The one you had before - have you tried it on your Vampire, or not?

I would think every kind of software will run faster on 080, unless badly coded. It has a quicker clock frequency than most (not overclocked) 68k CPU's anyway and should run everything a bit quicker.

Dgen seems to be your only choice.

I dont remember anyone reported how does (or does not good) work on Vamp, you could give it a try.

Its 2017, 020+ RTG ixemul.library 48+ which is all good. Unless ixemul lib makes any kind of trouble. There are 040 no fpu and 040 with fpu ixemul libs, so I hope one does work well.

I found this video

But this emulator is available? In the description is written that works fine on 68040+
The megadrive emulation seems almost perfect, but I don't find the emulator anywhere

Video says 68040 (JIT emulation) aka runs in WinUAE.
Tried DGen (can be found here: http://aminet.net/package/misc/emu/dgen-68k) in WinUAE and reached ~35fps. On the Vampire 2.11 this is more like <1 fps unfortunately. Remember a thread at eab...
As it is a port of the PC version, the program emulates the MC68000 cpu which is kind of redundant ;)
DGen may run on real hardware, if someone is able to replace the cpu emulation with the real thing...

OK, so better port is needed. Video description is quite missleading.
(at least until Vamp reaches UAE Speeds)

Dgen SDL sources are avail here EXTERNAL LINK
I supose its dependent on SDL and OpenGL performance so currently might really be "a Vamp no go". Surely, emulation of (already existing) 00 CPU would nice to skip.

also here's something

8bitdo do a Bluetooth/wireless conversion board for the sixbutton megadrive controller, and they have a standard 9pin megadrive/gensis port to Bluetooth receiver on pre-release.

maybe amiga compatible?
