Even with this result VAMPIRE wins :-)
VAMPIRE wins 11 tests
VOODOO wins 9

It sure does :) My bad.
And compared to my old core x13 the new version destroys it :D

Please mind that at the moment, only halve the routines are AMMX enabled.
I would take any bet that in few days the result will be
13/7 or even better for VAMPIRE.

I hate to ask but what is thie realistic time frame for the release of Gold 2.7 and the improved drivers and softFPU. A week, one Month. As usaual the performance is coming on in leaps and bounds

PS
please don't say 2 weeks :)

But the Voodoo 3 destroys the scores. But that is not technically an Amiga GFX card so you are in the clear :D

In the AMIGA FUTURE is a test of the VOODOO3 combined with MEDIATOR and Amiga 1200, Blizzard 1260/64 Mhz,
  EXTERNAL LINK
According to AMIGA FUTURE, the VAMPIRE wins most of the tests.

I can't wait to get my hands on a V4 vamp for my A1200 so I can compare with my voodoo 3 card and post results ^^

Please keep in mind that those results have different resolutions etc.
I think this has some influence on the result, doesn't it?

Let's hope for awesome 3d acceleration and better resolutions and update frequencies on the vampire, then I can pull out my voodoo 3 card ;)

No, it's just that Spanish dictionaries are wrong! It's simple:

ahora mismo - now
ahora - later
mañana - never

I was pretty sure it meant tomorrow. And yes, 3d acceleration! :D

In spoken language is much, much later (but not really never)

I might be wrong, i am not a good Spanish speaker, I qote Orwells experience of Spanish Civic War where compadres would often use "manana" :-)

There are similar cultural references - in urban Serbian/Bosnian/Croatian, there is - come see me yesterday for it ("dodji juce") or come see me tommorow for it ("dodji sutra"). Amigans "two more weeks" kind of remind of it.

I have asked the Prometeus author and he told me that bandwidth of it was limited to 12MB/s - so Vampire with transfer over 250MB/s should beat easily Voodoo in each test... So it is strange to me if it does not beat easily Voodoo...

Quite simple. There are operations which include significant data transfers from the Amiga to the graphics card and others which are performed entirely on the graphics card itself. The latter (e.g. line drawing and static on-board bitmap copy) are fast on the Voodoo. The former are not.

When I got my mediator and installed my voodoo 3 card in it, I emediately noticed a HUGE boost in speed on my computer, no matter what it was. Using the original chipset modes took it back in performance, but still.

While it was possible via accels. and expansions to accelerate certain aspects of Amiga system (e.g. external SCSI, gfx, CPU, PPC CPU as add on ...) seems Vampire brings more balanced approach - increasing mem speed, chipset parts incl. gfx, CPU speed and IDE speed.

That is exactly why it is best accel. not just because of some part per se, be it 080 design.
