Articia S based hardware only supports 100 or 133Mhz SDR RAM.

  Thanks for the info.
The memory module would be 64bit?

So the expected peak speed in theory would be 133x8 = 1000 MB/sec

Comparing this to only reaching 150 MB/sec in Stream is shameful.

Calling such hardware "AMIGA" is an insult to the AMIGA name.

Yeah, with all the chips running so perfect together in the classic Amiga hardware, it really is a disgrace. I guess commodore really did do them alot better, anyway.
I suppose when you wanna be able to swap out gfx cards and such things, there is going to be a suffering of syncronization among all the different components

I guess going PPC in the first place, was a mistake

Interested, decent shooter and nice use of pixels.

With 20\20 hindsight vision yes but, at the time it was logical choice with Apple moving in that direction.

Well one has to understand the PPC in general is not that bad.
But PPC AMIGAs are very bad compared e.g to PPC APPLE.

There is a very easy to understand technical reason for this.
A CPU alone does not make a computer.
To build something like a PC - you need also a memory controller chip (northbridge), you need a southbridge chip etc.

If you look at x86, many companies produce x86 mainboards and there are many good Northbridge and southbridge chips for x86 on the market.

This is absolutely not the case for PPC.
For PPC only IBM and APPLE produced complete systems.
And they (Apple etc) produced their very own Northbridges - which they kept for themselves.

This means to build something like the AMIGA-ONE you have a serious problem.
The AMIGA ONE is technically a PC using a PPC CPU instead x86.
The problem is you could not get any good working companion chips  for PPC.

You can now easy understand why an old APPLE-PPC computer runs circles around an AMIGA-NG-PPC system.

(Continuing from above post)

Which is why I was opposed to PPC Amigas* and detrimentally building on precisely what Gunnar said, is the dreaded... CODE BLOAT!

What is all that I ever really wanted was ANYBODY that was going to continue with AMIGA technology to do EXACTLY what NatAmi did, and now what the Apollo Core Team is doing..... AMIGA, as it was but SUPREMELY betterfied!!!!

I'm sorry, but that is why I'm fanatic over this.

* ONLY reason I went Hyperion Entertainment PPC (AOS4.x) was that it was "the only game in town"! (I do love it, though.)

I'm just an average guy who likes AMIGA and tries to do his part to revive the dream.
And I think WE ALL share this motivation.

You saying this makes me wish even more that I was a programmer!!
Though I do know some stuff about programming, All I've ever programmed were simple beginner examples xD

As far as I understood you are a programmer. So I have question to you: how do you manage with libraries API documentation?!? Do you understand any of descriptions written in English?!?

It would be helpful if you gained a better command of English before attacking Mallagan.  He's stating that he ISN'T a programmer, but wishes that he was one.  Obviously you're the one with a problem understanding English.

ROFL!! xD high five!!
I understand programming to some extent, since I have a friend who's fenomenal at programming, who has shown me alot and talked about alot of things programming. He even worked for intel on some heavy duty stuff, so he's a true code junkie. But no, I can't program anything else than html and some java script xD
