Coffin 61 Performance

Hello, guys,
I just flashed the latest CoffinOS (61) and, although the splash screen looks amazing and I liked the new screen mode, I feel that the overall performance and loading times have markedly deteriorated, not to mention that some apps now don't run in fullscreen (eg ASP). I am a fan of CoffinOS, but I felt somewhat disappointed with the current release.

Anyone having the same issues? Thanks!

The loading speed is in your hand.
You can edit the SS and remove stuff if you want it faster.

Thanks for your answer, mate. I am not referring to the startup time, but the individual app loading times. For example, scummvm takes ages to load, compared to previous coffin version.
Also, I found that trying to customize things with Coffin tends to break stuff, so I have very much decided to leave it as is. :/

Which card do you use?

When you run SYSINFO diskspeed on HD0, what MB/sec result do you have?

ScummVM 1.9 GUI is indeed slower than the old 1.5 build but games should run at same speed, and are now also playable in window mode.

Unfortunately, I reflashed Coffin59 which worked fine, so I cannot test the loading speed. I can at least confirm that now the loading times are as they should be.
I used the Kingston CF card that came with my V4. :)

It is a subpar experience, unfortunately, it takes ages even for the cursor to become responsive.
I found WHDLoad games loading and running ok but that was not the case with other titles I tried (Sixth sense investigations, Inherit the earth and a few others).

Help me understand.
Is this post about general loading times, which you can for example influence with IDE Speed setting. Or is your post focused only on that the new SCUMM version loads slower than old SCUMM version?
But would this maybe be a SCUMM complain instead Coffin complain?

Sorry If I wasn't clear. I was only using ScummVM as an example. The loading times in general seem to have been affected in my experience.

Which card model do you use?
Did you enable FASTIDE?

As I explained already, I used the Kingston CF card that came with my V4, I don't change the CoffinOS settings because this tends to break things and I cannot run Sysinfo because I reverted back to Coffin59. In this one (59), even though the card is the same and I didn't change the IDE settings, everything works the way it should. :)

Please note that "default" Amiga IDE speed is 3.5 MB/sec
The V4SA can do a lot more. With FASTIDE enabled it can do 20 MB/sec on APOLLOOS and on OS 3 over 12/14 MB/sec
Enabling FASTIDE will improve your Diskspeed a lot.

I understand that you use Coffin 59 now.
Can you run Sysinfo on your #59 and tell us what Diskspeed you get?

Sure, it shows 3,209,926 bytes/sec.

OK, there is some room for more.
When you enable FastIDE the drive can get much faster ..
3 times faster for example

After a really long time, I started tinkering with my V4 Standalone again :)
Updated latest core and Coffin R61 and feels rather good until I update my own WB version.

I saw that by default despite seeing my board via $VBoardID=5 there was no VBControl ID 3 to enable FastIDE so put it in SS and voila 10Mb/s (awesome!)

Cheers for these updates team.
