My Amiga600 is broken at the moment, but I have a V600 (I bought another a600 from Ebay, but will arrive in a later moment). Can I register now using an  Amiga1200 (without vampire card) or is mandatory to launch the .exe from a Vampirized Amiga? Or the serial requested can be found somewhere in the PCB of the V600?

You need to run the tool from your Vampire system to get his serial number.

Is there supposed to be any confirmation email once completed? I think it worked, but iBrowse took a long time, so I'm a little concerned it may have not processed properly.

Not that I'm planning on selling my Vampire any time soon, but if I did, would the new owner need to re-register it? How would that work?

Presumably the new owner puts their details in there, and it treats it as a new registration and overwrites the previous entry. Obviously, this means you must treat your serial number with secrecy to stop trolling by people who have noticed it anywhere.

Personally, I would like some logic that generates some UUID for each unique owner that is generated internally by the tools and which can be validated against the serial number, that the registration would bond against. When the Vampire is passed on, the UUID is regenerated.

An alternative would be for the current owner to login, then relinquish their ownership on sending. Not everyone will do this - maybe the Vampire people can help with the aforementioned method to prove ownership of the Vampire, by including current date also in the generation of the UUID. Then you would just flash a current firmware to prove ownership using internal functions in the Vampire, then send the UUID to the registration site to fix the owner.

What's with this serial number Mark of the Beast BS?

I don't want to use other systems because of this type of stuff. You know, the codes in the pentiums, etc.

If you expect us to register, I'd like to know how many systems are out there, for instance as a trade off.

Yes, understanding how many systems in which countries are used is also one goal of us.
Also this will help us to identify which native install manuals we should work on.

Is it possible to update your record?

I registered my V2+ as a V2 and tried resubmitting it with the right selection, but it says record already exist. Not sure if V2 vs. V2+ selection is important though..
