Vojin:Like you I think that v4 was announced to early. That announce had surely an impact on v500v2 sells because if someone wanted to buy a vampire for his 500/2000 since that announcement had a new more featured option to wait for in few months (so no new vampire sold).

Well, team knows the "market impact"

    However

    - 500 v2 model seems to be only avail, so people are hopefully more eager to get it and 600 v2 should soon roll out Majstas hideout, while v4 was not avail at all. Demand seems not to reduce.

    - Coffin is FPU software inclusive now, so it will be "ready" for V4 core FPU power

    - All benefits of 2.7 v2 core minus reduced FPU can be used for v4 core progress (such as advancement from AMMX to AMMX2, faster mem controller).

    - There is no V4 release date, and I suppose whoever is on v2 waiting list will be offered 500 V4/600 V4 when ready. 1200 V4 and Standalone will be a major interest generators.

So long way to go, few steps more done. At the same time, v2 models are well served - a bit higher clock and caches and faster RAM + USB + LAN and full FPU are more like evolution of current. With GOLD3 it will all be revolutionary, so no need to cry :-)

P.S. Seems extension headers on v2 Vamps will get net/Wi-Fi so less reason to complain on slow v4 development by looking what v2 has grown in to.
