Thal looks like he is forced to leave the place, he is living in... so ether sell or dump the stuff.
To help we would need more information:
  1. Where is he from.
  2. What are the reasons for his finacial trouble and can they be solved?
  3. Whould small amouts of money help at all, or would that money just get confiscatet?

Very recently the user "WXR" did announce that he wants to help fund/sponsor  some AROS for 68K development.

Not sure if this is enough money but maybe this is an option?

yeah. hot air. he was demanding aros developers to join github, which is a paid service as far as im aware, and move the whole aros project in there in advance.

this whole ratning and walls of text postings were rather suspicious.

kalamatee did essential improvements for 68k target and apollo within last weeks, not to mention his whole commitment on aros.

whoever wants to support him can do so without big fanfare. his commits speak for himself.

Of course on many forums are people doing mostly hot air.
But his support interest could be genuine.
Would be easy to show now.

If he likes to continue we could offer him with a free Vampire loaner.

could be. but making it dependant on impossible demands and telling people how they should go about their project, they have brought up and maintained for years doesnt bode well for intentions or a possibility for an agreement.

Would be easy to show now.

exactly. at least a small atempt in form of some simple and cheap bounty could be made in order to prove if it even has a chance to work. instead nothing.

similarly the offer to improve the system from cloanto occures to be an offer to betatest amigaforever package, as it seems.

Well, my impression is that Kalamatee is a important AROS developer, so if WXR wants to retain AROS development pace, I guess keeping Kalamatee active is important.

Hopefully we can get a lifesign from Kalamatee on forum, where he can map out his situation in more detail. I know its a personal thing, but given todays austerity reality around the world, I think most of us are very understanding and intrested in helping to the best of our abilities.

@1 ok...so he is busy voting today ;-) / far away from me

@2 could offer him a job as a programmer in Germany, but not in Scotland

@3 my problem here: if he has got debts, the money could go directly to the bank...

From Aros-exec forum;

Kalamatee, find cheap place to put your stuff. Then get some traveling support from EXTERNAL LINK . I know that you got already job offer in Germany, with that money you can go there. Also my employer is seeking skilled Java or C# coder in Finland. If interested, pm me. We also have office in Netherlands so after sort while, moving to there could be possibility.

It baffles me how Anyone with computer skills especially coding, could not be in demand and prosperous.
Of course personal problems and health would negate that I suppose.

"It baffles me how Anyone with computer skills especially coding, could not be in demand and prosperous.

Because life in liberal capitalism is far away from nice propaganda parolas of "prosperity for the worthy, poverty for the laisy".

Anyone could or will be in his position.

If there is a way to setup direct bounties for solidarity - no cause needed, once man gets better he can express his gratuted and skills - would donate few tens of euros.
Much as I can as not being extremely far away from his situation and in low-wage country, and yet with no coding skills :-)

There are other methods to it. If there is anyone nearby who can donate a humble shelter and food, for bare and quick survival its far more important.

@Wawa

"whoever wants to support him can do so without big fanfare. his commits speak for himself."

How? And if mans survival is in question, support might be needed for couple of months until he gets a job in sad times.

Turning this into political is low my friend.
Maybe Serbia is your issue and you project.

How much have you donated?

My comment was more a reflection than a statement on this man's character.

Fair comment David Wright, but all I can do is to gauge the amount of work he/Kala has done for AROS, and decide if that is something we/I want to continue. That has very little to do with his situation, which is hard to judge since he has to elect to lay it out.

If support, whatever the motivation, leads to him to continue his very active development of AROS, then its a win.

"Turning this into political is low my friend.

Its birthplace none can choose. Not "my project" but project one has to live in, in this case me. However, difficulties
that arise during humane existance and the inhumane system
we do live in are similar.

Just coming from poorer country, means I have more understanding.

Thus, I find your past comment more insulting to human dignity,
then personal reflection. You are entitled to it, but it doesnt
seem right, proper or decent when proclaimed in public. Because capitalism isnt perfect
meritocracy, even with coding skills. In the end, anyone of us
can for cause of ilness or job termination be couple hundred dollars behind and yes, without family support or someone willing to chip in, you would end the same.

I never understood that kind of cruelty - each man can recover financially, even mentally and physically in few months and be able to repay what he cant now. Greed is quite a "mortal sin" but leads to very inhumane things.

Mine is really a simple observation and nothing detrimental meant for this fellow.
Vojin seems to want to make it more.

Let's not insult our hosts here by turning this into a cage match.
If I sidetracked this, I apologize.
(Btw, my comment on Serbia was not meant as anything derogatory)

there is a lot of people around amiga forums that are not exactly prosperous. and i know a lot of people who arent prosperous even though they should and vice versa. what matters his character? what matters to me is that he is highly skilled in designing and development of an amiga operating system and that he delievered a lot of work in this direction. for me thats worth support. period.
