Can you show what commands it was that you added?

Because this beta core release was a misnomer, it's just Gold 2 with the fast IDE fix for the A600. A feature intended for a Gold 3 release before Gold 2.5 or 2.7 was conceived.

I do not think that RawSpeed Controller 1.12 should be trusted.

  Double check your math!

D'oh! I retract my comment. I should not be making calculations so soon after waking up.

I Would love to test FastIDE Gold3. I've already got a Flasher and A600 of course.

Yeah gold 2.5 is newer than this Fast IDE update.

Since I updated to 2.5 my sdcard reader doesn't work. I can't remember error right now.

hello everybody,
I testing my vampire 500 v2+ gold 2.5 with  4 hard drive different but in SATA.

That test are effectued with sata2ide device from ELBOX for FastATA v4 Sata edition.

That test is not really concluant.
two hard drive SSD SATA. One 256Gbit (Samsung MZ-7TE250) and one 128Gbit (PM851 SATA6.0gbps).

One 2.5' Hard drive SATA 120Gbs (HITACHI HTS541612J9SA00).

One Card Flash 4Gbs (SANDISK) with CF2IDE device.

All Harddrive work, but in VCONTROL ID 1 (Fast IDE mode), the system crash!
With no fast mode, all are ok but the speed are 1.2Mb/S...

One 3.5' Hard drive 120Gbs IDE (WD1600AABB CAVIAR).
With Harddrive 3.5', All modes are ok!
In slow mode, the speed are 3.5mb/S.
In fast mode, the speed is CRAZY! 15Mb/S.

The problem with SATA hard drive is same with FastATA v4 SATA edition and other version. Probably SATA2IDE interface are not realy for old version of IDE device?
  Or scsi.device is too old.

I almost forgot, I also tested 2 HDD at the same time! 1 master / 1 slave.

The master boot and the partitions are mounted without problem, but the slave meanwhile, the partitions must be mounted with "MOUNTER" in the drawer "TOOLS".

Sorry for my bad anglish :-)

- Jumps up and down! - I am not alone!! - falls down on his butt and cries like a baby, waterfall flows from both eyes - I am not alone!!!

I didn't understand if FastIDE is possible in a vampire600 v2 with current core (2.5). If the answer is "yes" can someone produce an "how to" little guide to show how to enable it?

Could you be more specific? It's a cli command? It works in vampire600 that have no ide onboard?

I tried the command using the cli, it says "fast ide enabled", but sysinfo in drive tests reports the same speed. I think that fastide now works only for the ide of v500. Maybe have to wait for gold core 2.7 or 3.0 (i tried with 2.5) for old v600..

Hi. VControl id(espeed) is only intended to work on V500 (since IDE/Gayle is handled in core). Cant work on V600/Gold2.5. FastIDE on the legacy IDE port of the Amiga 600 is much more difficult/complex to boost.

But it's a feature planned for next cores?

Sure. And 16/32 cores will be also included (similarly to modern x64 processors).
