The upcoming GOLD3 will provides the following features:

* AUTOVEC fix
Due to the hardware design of some Amiga models (some A500)
There was a chance of IRQ glitching.
This is fixed now with GOLD3.

* FAST-IDE for A600
The IDE bus protocol is fully programmable now.
Depending on the combination of your drive/main board/CF-adapter IDE transfer rates of up to 7 MB/sec can be reliably reached.
We will provide you a software tool to measure which speed is safe and reliable supported by your hardware.

* Scan-lines
A new CRT-look-like scanline mode allow you to run your favorite ARCADE games (MAME,C64,NINTENDO,..) with a look matching the original CRT.

* SAGA fix for misaligned pointers.
Switching between several screens which are misaligned (double buffer) on P96 could cause some flicker. This is fixed now

  ************************

For a deep testrun on as many as possible A600 systems we look for volunteer testers.
If you have an A600, a Blaster, and like to take part in the Fast-IDE testing/ championship.
Then please contact us on IRC.

We will publish all collected results, so that also other AMIGA Accelerator manufacturer can use them - so that hopefully all AMIGA cards can run 7 MB/sec IDE in the future.

Hi, I can Test the Fast-IDE on my V600, Especially now that I have a working keyboard again.  I'm usually lurking somewhere on IRC  -TrashyMG

Are there any IOPS or 4K random read/write benchmarks available for Amiga?  I'm thinking the Apollo is fast enough where the difference in various cf/other cards 4k random starts to become noticeable.

I would be up for testing once my vampire arrives on the 9th March.

I have various Compact flash cards and M-Sata > IDE converters

The V500 has FASTIDE with max speed.
When enabled its always maximum Speed.

The V600 re-uses the orignal AMIGA IDE connector.
The V600 allows adjusting the speed according to your mainboard.

Definitely interested in testing GOLD3. I have a Vampire 600 V2 and an Altera Blaster.

Peter, Is that result for the ide on an A600 simply by enabling Fast IDE through the Vampire card? If so, that's impressive!

I wonder what type of speed increases we'll get with the Amiga 1200 IDE by enabling Fast IDE on the Vampire 1200? Hopefully, the results will be equally impressive or even better! When the V1200 V2 becomes available and when I buy one I'd like to find out. ;-)

Until then we'll rely on speed tests with the V600 V2.
