Hello.

I'm currently working very hard to improve EmuTOS for Amiga.
I have now an A500+ and a Vampire 500 V2+ so I can make my own tests.

Latest achievement is FastRAM detection from EmuTOS floppy, on any Amiga. See there:

Stay tuned!

Cool, it also would be nice if EmuTOS would support more Amiga graphics modes (I think at the moment it only emulates ST high, but not yet tryed by myself). I know, this would require VDI extensions... And in the future maybe even (S)AGA?

You missed an episode ;-)

I don't plan to work on native Amiga color video modes.

But indeed, SAGA support may arrive in some future.

Very good work Vincent. It opens the door to some new Amtari world :)

First test of the EmuTOS floppy on an A1200 upgraded to 68030 (no Vampire).

It works out of the box :-)

SAGA-Support would be great. For beginning, why not already AGA? The step to SAGA then might not be too big? Thanks for all what you are doing to advance EmuTOS.

Big refactorings in EmuTOS last week... to allow it to run itself in FastRAM! And that matters, the desktop is visibly much faster.

See news there, along with a Kronos screenshot:

Nice  - looks promising. Keep the good job goin on until FreeMiNT will be faster than AROS... which should be not long, if already not achieved ;-)

Aniplayer is a popular video/audio player on Atari machines.
It works fine with EmuTOS for Amiga, even in monochrome.
Power of the Apollo Core 68080 is welcome for dithering :-)

Great work, Vincent!

Guess you know you just sowed public desire for Amiga colour bitplane support in EmuTOS? ;)

Vincent, t'est fou!!! This is amazing. Now we need color and sound. And we need Apollo team to support real ST as the base for Vampire.

Even if the (modest) result is already impressive, there is no magic:
  - Amiga and Vampire are nice and reliable hardware
  - EmuTOS is a clean OS
  - Aniplayer is clean Atari software
  So... it just works :-)

Good work ! Now we need  drivers for fVDI (planar modes may be welcome too)and sound and we will have "almost Atari" ;-)

Yes you are righ, if that comes, an Amiga + Vampire would be the closest competition to a Firebee.

FreeMiNT is a multitasking kernel for Atari computers. It works on top of TOS/EmuTOS. And we can see that it works fine on Amiga + Vampire V2 :-)

When you add high color high resolution to it, an Amiga will be competition to Firebee. In some points more compatible as Firebee ever can be.

Firebee appears to be a pretty sophisticated setup.

How is the performance?

Vincent, can you please test if Calamus 1.09N and/or Calamus SL runs on Vampire? (Contact me on atari-computer.com forum for assistance: 1ST1)

Calamus SL doesn't work due to video limitations. It requires at least 800x600, and 256 colors or True Color mode.

Calamus 1.09N starts well in plain EmuTOS on Vampire, and it enjoys Amiga's 640x512 :-)

NB: I don't know Calamus, so I wouldn't bet that all functions work fine. There could be issues due to EmuTOS limitations, etc.
