the idea of the aros roms is to replace all amiga roms with one rom. You can see that when using aros roms in whdload (what works for at least 60-70% of the games)

Still cant get AROS working on my V1200, It doesnt boot up on either IDE interfaces (V or 1200 on board) but the Coffin build works 100% and my V1200 is on the latest RC core

Apollo Team is working hard on V2 and V1200 compatibility for ApolloOS. For V1200 there is still some work to do to support the IDE. Please follow our #vampire-accelerators channel on ApolloTeam Discord for latest news.

Dear Community, I hope somone can help me with apollo os on V4 Standalone.  i downloaded ApollOS_R5B_060321.ima and updated the cf. When i boot the updated CF i have an issue (it seems, that) with the resulution. Has some one an idea what i do wrong or forget? I see a picture but completly unreadable and stribes. If i compare it with windowsdriver display problem. i would say wrong driver or a decfect cabel.
but before i updated the old version was normal which came with my v4 and the same cabel. Thanks!

Which FPGA core do you use?

What do you mean with updated?
Are you using V4BL or this is a exclusive CF only with Apollo OS?

Thanks for your answer!
I have the Vampire V4 standalone with the cf which comes with the Vampire. To your question i use the cf at the moment only with apollo os. When i use a older version (ApolloOS2_2020-09-06) it run again. Iam new with the theme fpga. Has something change in the core for the grafic "Hardware"?

@Gunnar von Boehn
At the moment i use the original core which i got from Apollo with the older os. Normaly i would (i answerd your other teammember) say fpga is only the "hardware" and the grafic driver is in the apollo os. But when i read your question i think that there is my fault. I have the usb blaster here and i will try update the core also.

Updating the latest core can be essential. Hereby, with V4 more resolutions are enabled in hardware, so graphic driver in ApolloOS cant help much unless core is updated.

You can update the CPU / Chipset with an FPGA update and you can update the OS CF installation with a new CF image.

To update the CPU/Chipset I can recommend you to get the latest UPDATE.exe from Downloads CLICK HERE

As a newbie in this theme i have problem withe the core update.
the manual is a little bit to short in this section. I would very be glad for a step by step. I think for the first time it would be helpful to update the short beginning manual. I searched in the forum and the wiki, if there was a link with hints they are down.

1. i downloaded the core update exe
2. My SD Card is fat 32 formated with fdformater.
3. i put the exe directly on the sd without folder.
3. I put the card in the sd slot and boot (press the 2 buttons on the mouse) but then he didnt come in the boot menue. without the sd card i come in the boot menu. What i do wrong has the card the wrong formate for the v4? << Here i am.
4. the manual say in the CLI i must only wrote the name of the file (with or without the fileending exe?) I hope my Question/problem is not too stupid for you. Thanks for the fast answers!

Hello Torben,

There are several ways to happiness,

A) open Aweb on your Vampire and go to our website,
click on the UPDATE.EXE and just download it with Aweb.
Aweb will per default save downloads in RAM:
Open a CLI cd to RAM:
and just run the execute by writing its name in the CLI.

B) Download the file with another computer, copy it for example with SDcard to Vampire. Mount the SDcard.
You can either do this over the GUI APOLLOOS->MOUNT-SDCARD
Or you can open a CLI and type "mount sd0:"
cd into the sd0:
and run the file by writing its name

I hope this helps
And yes the ".exe" ending is part of the name

There are two releases availiable:

ApollOS_R5B_130321.7z 9.7GB
ApolloOS_R5_2212.7z 7.6GB

Which is newer? B mark, or higher number?

Finally, I will get my hands on V4SA locally - I am buying Jans (AmiKit) V4SA :)

Clearly, 2212 is from December last year, and 130321 is from March this year. At least that's what logic dictates ;)

You can't boot up from the micro SD card.... yet.

They are going to have another update release in April 2021, they hope to, anyway... This release will be the FIRST ONE that CAN boot up from the micro SD card, finally!!!!!!

Cant do from SD Card, its data exchange only.

Boot to any AmigaOS / ApolloOS / CoffinOS, copy core from SD Card to CF SYS: or download it from Amiga browser, and then run it the way you did.

AS Gunnar explained:
A) open Aweb on your Vampire and go to our website,
click on the UPDATE.EXE and just download it with Aweb.
Aweb will per default save downloads in RAM:
Open a CLI cd to RAM:
and just run the execute by writing its name in the CLI.

Or for not copying from SD, if you mount it, as Gunnar explained

B) Download the file with another computer, copy it for example with SDcard to Vampire. Mount the SDcard.
You can either do this over the GUI APOLLOOS->MOUNT-SDCARD
Or you can open a CLI and type "mount sd0:"
cd into the sd0:

Could it be possible to have Apollo OS distro in LHA packages also.
Or even better if couple of packages.
  - System without any bundeld games etc.
  - Extras with extensions and utilities like riva, aweb, yam...
  - Games and fun with games, fractal generators etc.

I have 64GB CF card where I have several partitions, system and own coodings etc, which I would not be happy to overwrite.

I would be still happy to dedicate one partition Apollo OS.

Yes, a basic-stripped-down version of ApolloOS, just with system files for people that likes to build their system from scratch will be useful, I think.

Totally agree that this would very be usefull. The image is realy nice to setup things fast and correct.

But to be able to create the system partion you want and to install everything you with what you need, this would be realy helpfull.

Just tried the latest release for the v4 (5b), seems that the ide issue i had is fixed in this version. Before i had random write errors on any speed with the included 128gb cf.
