I see quite some aggression, if you want to use that term, from Kenji, when he is nullifying the idea of selling the board solo and that it's a waste of time if you consider this idea.
So I felt encouraged to outline my view a bit more.

I will keep my eyes open for resellers who will offer it without a case.

I understood Kenjis point as:
"as Gunnar said, it should be a fully operable machine when it arrives"

And I fully agree with him,

I think selling the V4 as plug and play system would be ultimately great.

I could imagine a Box with
  - V4 in it, coming with AROS-AMIGAOS and some demos and games preinstalled
  - with mouse
  - with a joystick
  - with keyboard
  - which Power Supply
  - with DIGITAL-VIDEO cable
  - with Wifi Module

All ready and complete.
All you need is to open this box on XMas - plug it into your home TV
and start playing your beloved games.

With the Ethernet or Wifi you could even access the internet.
And upload your RESHOOT highscores in the online highscore table.

For sure this would be convenient for many people. And they can be happy to buy such bundle.

But there are others with different ideas. Using the Checkmate case, where you coorperated with Steve to make the case compatible. Or the new A1200 case where the same was done.

Do you fully agree with him as well that "the hardware devs shouldn't be bothered with these types of questions."?
If so, does it mean, you don't intend to sell the V4SA unbundled at a reasonable price? Right now I've not seen a dealer offering it unbundled.

I think you should not hold US responsible for what resellers offers.

Resellers could offer from several options from "naked board" to "coming preinstalled with OS and mouse and keyboard and flatscreen"

And resellers could stay to our suggested retailer price - which would make the systems less expensive.

Maybe both will happen?
You have to mind that the V4 sales just started...

My point was is that that the hardware devs have a lot of work to get the electronics side operational and stable, and that this type of question is related more to the production/marketing team, and/or retailers.

Well, maybe the only option you're selling them right now is a bundled product. So you could be very well responsible for what the retailers offer to the market. I have no insight into your business and I don't need to. But don't neglect the possibility that the retailers are bound to whatever you offer them.

At the moment it's obvious that it's only offered bundled so that it's a no-go for the people out there waiting to place the V4 into the Checkmate or A1200 case.

But we've waited so long, some few more months won't do harm.

I hope Kenji now understands the point that the question and demand are rather legit.

We told you resellers can also order without case.

We answered your question several times now.
Why do you then invent stories?

Hang on there Markus B.
I have a Checkmate case waiting for the V4.
I think that having it come with case, psu and software is a good thing as I can do as Gunnar said and connect up to my monitor straight away and start having fun. I know it will take some time to install into the Checkmate case so I am happy to take my time and sort all the requirements out for that while I can still enjoy the fastest Amiga on the planet to date.
Remember only Amiga makes it possible and part of that is letting each of us express that in our own individual ways.
Remember also that if you house the V4 in another case you can put the original case away so it will be as new when you need it.
If you really want a bare board then email all the dealers offering the V4 and ask them if they will sell you the bare board. I am sure as Gunnar has said that there will be some who will do that.
Remember though that all the Amigas sold by C= and Escom etc; all came with cases and Keyboards and software bundles, ready to connect to TV or monitor and use straight out of the box.

So you have it from the horses mouth people.  Resellers are free to order the V4 without a case.  Which means they are free to offer it to customers.

If this is your preference, please request directly with resellers to offer this option.  In the end, the voting power of your wallets is far more influential.

@Markus B:  I think your concerns regarding the case are satisfied now.  I would ask that you refrain from speculating on other people's dealing (e.g. What Supplier A and Reseller B agreed together). I deleted your last post so as to not continue a agitated ping-pong match over a point which is already resolved.  Nothing will come of it except angry people.  I believe you have means to get what you want without this style of questioning.

To avoid starting a new new topic about the same subject. Here is an idea, why not let resellers sell the V4SA with case and you sell them on your site with AND without a case? So everybody will be happy :-)

@ CD32 Freak
Gunnar has made it crystal clear that " resellers can also order without case".

I'm wondering if something odd is going on with google translate miss translating!

Yes, it is crystal clear what he said. However, he talks about resellers, but the team also sells the V4SA here on their own site: CLICK HERE
So, why not give an option without a case? Verstehen Sie mich? ;-)

I understand you now .... well that was a reminder to actually read things properly myself :-) Good point as well, I forgot about the direct sales.

My goal is to provide users with a pre-installed, fully working new Amiga. A system that the users just connect to the power, and can turn on and immediately can use.

Therefore our plans go for a complete system with preinstalled HD(CF) in the case, fully assembled, with mouse and keyboard and even joystick.

I understand that you want stuff differently.
And that you have your very personal wishes,
and that you asked for a special PCB revisions which changes DB9 plugs. You ask for many different things.
I can understand that each person has own ideas and wishes.
But please also understand that we not can do all of them in parallel and the we of course will focus on those which we believe to be important at this time.

Oh, come on, I am not some kind of Prima Donna who wants all kinds of changes to the V4SA PCB or anything else. The boards are already manufactured, put it in a anti-static bag, stuff it in a box and send it to anyone who wants to buy it without a case.

I understand that your first priority at the moment is to ship the outstanding orders, but I'm talking about giving a choice to potential customers. Why not set up a poll and see what people really want?

Gunnar, I agree with your view, everything should be included even a printed manual with programming informations. I only wish it could match with what the ZX Spectrum Next team did, but hey resellers could do it.
