Sorry if this is the wrong forum but after visiting majsta.com it seems production of the boards is one of the main problems getting cards out for sale. How can we help out here? I have plus 10 years of experience in producing pcbs for a living at a factory here in Sweden. I know there is many professional production units all over Europe. Is the problem funding for starting production? I dont know the specs of the boards but soldering by hand seems very ineffective. Sure some of the components may have to be soldered by hand but most of the should med placed by a robot and soldered in a automatic owen. Back in the days when we produced double sided pcbs here in Sweden for mobile phones we ran a batch of 500 units in 1 hour. How can we get the production to a factory and just keep the prototypes hand soldered? And again, sorry if this is the wrong forum. It was not possible to create an account at majsta.com.

There are a few issues with mass production. The V600 uses a hand modified PLCC socket. The team members are individuals and are naturally reluctant to deal with the sums of money involved in manufacturing 1000's of boards in one go. Each board needs a ROM licence either from Cloanto or by proof of ownership by a customer. A lot of admin is involved in processing orders to get a batch of cards manufactured and then there's all the work to program, test, package and post them.

Despite all these issues new manufacturing has been put in place to increase the production rate.
