Hi Markus B,

And THAT is why I don't believe in the "more options makes us stronger"* mentality.

We've fragmented the user base to "near zero".

Vampire WILL change that, as, "it's the original flavour".

* We DON'T need 4 web browsers. One or two good ones if they have strengths in different components of their usage is fine.

However, sales of software SHOULD rise, when there are more users.

  Vampire is the irresistible draw!!!

Demand to boards sold is 25 to 1!!!!!!

No. It just we are the atoms that get excited then go down normal, spin and enjoy the new environment around us and be happy and make the best of it, then a new reaction happens we get excited again and spin in the other new environment, act normal and enjoy the new environment and so on.

In the other hand, you are the atom that gets excited but never subside, just get excited more and more and more and more and what we have here called a hydrogen bomb...you just simply explode!

Or much like the human brain whose diagram shows the nerves of the human brain is blue....

You in the other hand shows in the diagram the human brain's nerve cells are actually bloody red which result in seizures.

That's all! - grin -

I really admire your enthusiasm for the Vampire Thierry, and I share your enthusiasm since I am a proud owner of the V600. Once you have one it's hard to go back to anything else.

Having said that, lately I have been feeling quite pessimistic about the level of impact the Vampire will have on the current situation at the moment, that is, a lack of developers willing to put in the time and effort to produce software we need to bring the Amiga closer to the modern age.

I believe this is due to 2 reasons:

      1. The majority of Amiga users are just simply that: users. They were people who played games on their Amiga and are probably getting back into it to recapture what they enjoyed most about it. There are relatively few active developers in amongst that group. I want to emphasize "active" because a lot of Amiga developers have moved on with their lives and their jobs.

      2. There is little to no sustainable revenue to incentivize developer groups to produce new software or update existing software. Those that do, do so out of a love for the hobby, and that's just simply not enough.

The majority of people who buy the Vampire today are those that enjoyed the Amiga back in the 90's. There is very little new interest in the hobby by younger people today, and more importantly, the younger developers.

The other issue is that Amiga is stuck in the past. I've seen many comments made by people that feel the Amiga is not an Amiga if it can't run their old software. There have also been Vampire customers who have expressed disappointment in the supposed lack of compatibility with software and games. I've even made those comments myself, although I feel the opposite now since I've become used to the Vampire and how it works.

If Microsoft (and companies such as Intel and AMD) had been bound by a policy of being 100 percent backwards compatible with old software we wouldn't have Windows 10 and Core I7 CPU's. How much software from the 90's runs on today's Windows 10 PC's natively without the need for assistive software such as Virtual Machines and emulators? Very little.

It's great to be enthusiastic about the Vampire product and what it's doing for the Amiga but, as one user mentioned, it's unrealistic to think that that it will ever become mainstream enough to lure in new developers.

Vampire will become mainstream :) when it goes ASIC and runs at 1 Ghz, windows can start digging its own grave xD

Ok hardware-stuff.

Errrr software-suff.

You seem to mix two different unrelated thing. Making the 68080 run faster will not improve amigaOS for it to compete with Windows or MacOS.
